Just Smudges: Heart Nebula

Hello all! I am a terrible friend and forgot to post this on time for Towanderlost, so I’m posting it a day late.

A quick introduction, I’m Maddi, a long time writer friend of Towanderlost filling in this week as she and her family take a camping trip. It’s fun that I get to do this post because the original idea for Just Smudges was a pet project that we did together last year but never gained traction on. Nonetheless, Towanderlost and I have been trading inspiration for years now and I’m excited to get the chance to share some here. The prompts I have below are a mix of my own findings and Towanderlost’s inspiration for me this week.

Rules (or suggestions for you rebels)

1. Read, admire, and listen to the inspiration I have provided below.

2. Be inspired.

3. Create something. If you’re a writer, write. If you’re a painter, paint. Feel free to interpret the prompts however you wish.

4. Pass on the inspiration. Share what you created on your blog and link back to today’s post in the comments.

Everyday Inspiration

“I’ve known grief. I don’t
Take it lightly. Know how
It gnaws your bones hollow
So you’re afraid to stand up,
Afraid the lightest wind will
Knock you over, blow you away.
But maybe the wind is supposed
To blow right through you;
Maybe you’re a tree in winter
And your poems translates
That cold wind into song.”
